Important Clinic Updates
We are currently experiencing higher than normal appointment requests and are finding it challenging to accommodate, even for emergencies. To try and alleviate some of this backlog, we will be offering extended hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting on May 17th.
Our current hours will be as follows:
Monday 9:00-5pm
Tuesday 9:00 - 7pm
Wednesday 9:00 - 7pm
Thursday 9:00 - 5pm
Friday - 9:00 - 4pm
Saturday - CLOSED
NEW CLIENT NO SHOW POLICY
Due to high demand for both routine and emergency appointments, we have begun to implement a no call/no show appointment fee for ALL new clients. If you are new to our practice, our staff will ask for credit card information to be run in the event of a no call/no show. Scheduled appointments may be cancelled up to 24 hours prior without penalty. If you do not show for your appointment, your card will be charged for the full appointment amount. We thank you for your understanding in this matter and look forward to serving you and your pet.
ABOUT US
Bird and Exotic Pet Wellness Center was founded in 2002 by Dr. Susan Orosz, PhD, DVM, Dipl ABVP (Avian), Dipl ECZM (Avian). We are committed to providing quality care at every stage of your exotic pet's life. From routine preventative care and early detection, to surgical needs, we can offer your pet the specific care she or he needs at any life stage. We look forward to serving you and your special pet!
Birds and exotic pets are unique animals requiring advanced knowledge of their structure, function, and diseases for proper treatment. We take pride at The Bird and Exotic Pet Wellness Center in providing the specialized care and equipment needed to diagnose and treat your exotic pet.
We strive to stay on the cutting edge with these unique animals by giving and attending presentations at continuing education conferences. Dr. Orosz regularly attends national and international conferences held by AAV (Association of Avian Veterinarians) and The Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV), and Dr Orosz lectures at them as well. Dr. Orosz is involved in research projects, has written numerous scientific and informative articles, and maintains memberships in AAV, AEMV, and the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians. (ARAV). She also helps organize the weekend retreat for vets and bird owners at Phoenix Landing, and has lectured there numerous times. Dr. Orosz has published two avian textbooks, multiple book chapters in others, and many research papers.
Our goal is to provide high quality care for your special pet including, but not limited to: birds, reptiles, amphibians, small mammals, and pigs. We recommend annual examinations. Depending on the age of your pet, this may include blood work, radiographs (x-rays), parasitic evaluation, or an ultrasound examination.
